Peter University, Achina/Onneh, is a premier private citadel of learning situated in the serene and lush landscapes of Anambra State.

Jointly owned by the Catholic Dioceses of Awka and Ekwulobia, the University stands as a beacon of academic excellence, moral integrity, and innovative research. We are not just an institution awarding degrees; we are a community dedicated to the holistic formation of the human person.

Our History & Heritage

Peter University was born out of a desire to bridge the gap between rigorous academic training and moral character formation in the Nigerian education sector. Approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria and licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the university is the fruit of the visionary collaboration between the Catholic Diocese of Awka and the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia.

Since our inception, we have remained committed to our founding philosophy: to provide a sanctuary where young minds can be nurtured away from the distractions of the bustle, yet fully equipped with the skills to conquer the global marketplace.
