"Ut Omnes Excellant" — That All May Excel
Peter University, Achina/Onneh, is a premier private citadel of learning situated in the serene and lush landscapes of Anambra State.
Jointly owned by the Catholic Dioceses of Awka and Ekwulobia, the University stands as a beacon of academic excellence, moral integrity, and innovative research. We are not just an institution awarding degrees; we are a community dedicated to the holistic formation of the human person.
Merging the intellectual rigor of the Catholic educational tradition with modern scientific and technological advancements, we are poised to raise a new generation of leaders who are academically sound, spiritually aware, and socially responsible.
Peter University was born out of a desire to bridge the gap between rigorous academic training and moral character formation in the Nigerian education sector. Approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria and licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the university is the fruit of the visionary collaboration between the Catholic Diocese of Awka and the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia.
Since our inception, we have remained committed to our founding philosophy: to provide a sanctuary where young minds can be nurtured away from the distractions of the bustle, yet fully equipped with the skills to conquer the global marketplace.
To be a world-class university recognized for academic rigor, innovative research, and a steadfast commitment to social responsibility, cultivating a dynamic learning environment that shapes future leaders who are determined to make a positive difference in their communities and the world.
To deliver transformative education that empowers individuals to lead purposeful lives. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and inclusivity, ensuring our graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and moral fortitude to drive change.
Guided by the philosophy of ISIDE
The University is led by a distinguished team of scholars and administrators, including the Vice-Chancellor, who guides the academic and administrative direction of the institution under the proprietorship of the Catholic Bishops of Awka and Ekwulobia.
